$1000 SCHOLARSHIP

If you have a family member preparing for college in the Fall of 2025, or if you know someone who does, we encourage them to submit an ESSAY for a chance to win a $1000 Scholarship!

ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP

As a realtor deeply rooted in the fabric of our community, I, Sybil Hobbs, understand the importance of home and neighborhood. This scholarship aims to celebrate the unique stories and experiences that shape us. I invite graduating high school seniors and current college students to share their personal narratives in an essay exploring the neighborhood they grew up in. Tell us about the people, places, and memories that made your neighborhood special. One deserving student will receive a $1000 scholarship to assist with their educational journey.

Your neighborhood tells a story, what's yours?

INSTRUCTIONS
Simply write an essay about the neighborhood you call home and what it was like growing up there. Share your experiences - the things you loved about your neighborhood, your house, your schools, and your friends. Reflect on what you miss if you've ventured away for college.

MECHANICS:
• The essay should be between 1000 - 1500 words.
• STRICTLY no use of AI.
• Submit your essay on or before March 28, 2025

Important Note:
Scholarship award is based purely on the quality of the essay entry. No minimum GPA, no community service requirements, no age restrictions. The only requirement is that you will be in college in the Fall of 2025. The winner will be recognized during the check delivery on April 4, 2025, with a small celebration of friends and family.
